Meet Dr. Daniel W. Springer

On Being a Dentist

I am proud to say I have truly loved the profession of dentistry and still enjoy caring for our patients. This is an exciting time to be a dentist, as we now have the technology and techniques to save more teeth, place implants, and restore healthy dentition.

I’ve been a dentist for 50 years, and have worked with three generations of patients. It’s been an honor to be part of the lives of so many people in our community; they have become far more than my patients: they’ve become my friends.

I knew I wanted to be a dentist back in second grade. I’ve never regretted that decision. I spend my days improving the oral and general health of people I care about. By restoring function, moving them out of pain, and giving them a confident smile, our team at Springer Dental makes their lives happier and healthier.

My Education and Commitment to Continuing Education

I was awarded my Doctorate of Dental Medicine by the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.

While a university education provides excellent foundational knowledge, dentistry is constantly evolving. During my years of practice, I’ve witnessed the development and implementation of numerous technological advances, new dental materials, and care processes. I’m particularly impressed with restorative dentistry and the use of dental implants to improve a patient’s quality of life.

Throughout the year I participate in a variety of continuing education courses in order to remain current on changes in the profession. This ensures our patients receive leading-edge care.

Personal Life

Though I’m originally from Tamaqua, Ephrata’s been my home since 1968. I was married for 39½ years to my sweet wife, Joan, who passed in 2003. I have three children: David is a personal trainer in the Washington D.C. area, Stephen is a dentist in this practice, and Suzanne is a stay-at-home mother. I also have six wonderful grandchildren and a lovely fiancée, Peggy, who’s a retired ER nurse.

When I’m not working, or spending time with Peggy and my family, I enjoy fly fishing and hunting at Hershey Hunting Camp, in Cedar Run, Lycoming County.
